Barnes Stringer: Osteopath
Thursday mornings. Ad hoc treatments available on request.
The fundamental concept of osteopathy is that the body functions well as long as its structure is in balance. If this structural balance is lost, often caused by everyday life, dysfunction and ill heath can occur. Osteopaths treat the human body as a whole and consider all the systems presented, aiming to support the body's natural healing mechanisms. The benefits of osteopathic treatment are a reduction in pain and an increase in range of movement.
Osteopathy can be used to treat most muscular-skeletal conditions and provides targeted treatment to overcome and ease pain, lack of mobility and joint stiffness. It also provides a long term plan for healthy living to avoid problems in the future.
Prices are £40 for consultation and treatment. First consultations last up to one hour, with follow up consultations lasting up to 40 minutes.
24 hours' notice must be given if you wish to cancel an appointment or you may be charged.
Barnes graduated from the University College of Osteopathy (fka British School of Osteopathy) in London, the oldest and largest osteopathy college in Europe, with a Masters level degree. The osteopathic training included in depth study of anatomy, physiology, pathology, neurology and rheumatology as well as employing a wide variety of osteopathic techniques and principles such as spinal adjustment, soft tissue and articulation.
