About me

My name is Fen.  I’m a Shiatsu practitioner (MRSS), Holistic Clinical Aromatherapist and Massage Therapist (MIFPA).

For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep sense of connection and an inherent fascination with the manifestations of the natural world -  its rhythms, forms, smells, wonder and intrinsic power to heal. As a young sufferer of eczema and bronchitis, I was taken by my mother to see various complementary practitioners – always encouraging me to look beyond the obvious symptoms and to seek a deeper understanding of the root cause.  This early introduction to complementary therapies and medicine sewed a lifelong seed of respect and fascination.

Over 20 years ago, I was involved in a serious car accident.  I had excruciating back pain and I was in a state of deep shock.  I went to see various gifted practitioners, but the trauma of my experience appeared to have penetrated so deeply that I wasn't able to fully receive.  One of the practitioners I saw then recommended I try Shiatsu.  Even after my first treatment, I recognised that I had found something that had ultimately changed my life.  Not only did the treatment support me physically with the use of beautiful deep yet gentle stretches and structural manipulations, I felt safe and 'held'. Years later, I made one of the most incredible and transformational decisions in my life, to train to become a Shiatsu practitioner.

Smell is the first sense we experience, and arguably remains the most powerful sense throughout our lives. My passion for natural aromas and botanical extracts led me to follow my heart and train as a Clinical Aromatherapist and Massage Therapist.  It is the greatest honour and delight to share my passion and bring the fragrant world to life for people - creating unique blends with some of the most exquisite organic and wild crafted aromatics.

I have practiced Yoga for nearly 20 years and in more recent years I have discovered Qigong. Practicing Yoga and Qigong helps me to feel at peace, to feel connected with the Universe, cleansing my body and moving stagnant thoughts and habits, helping me to feel flow and movement and allowing me to be 'in hara' for myself and in my work as a happy practitioner.

About Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy is an ancient treatment designed to help maintain physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing; drawing on the natural healing power of pure essential oils.  Since an aromatherapy treatment is concerned with creating balance, its primary uses are to calm, uplift, detoxify, de-stress and invigorate – in others words, to help your body to help itself regain vital health and wellbeing.

The therapeutic effects of the essential oils in combination with massage can help your whole body to relax and to let go of the pressures of everyday life. Massage is proven to eliminate toxins and promote healing and recovery of muscle and skin tissue by delivering fresh oxygenated blood carrying vital nutrients and minerals.

Who can benefit?

Anyone can benefit from Clinical Aromatherapy and therapeutic massage, reasons can include:

  • It can be effective for back pain, sciatica, neck and shoulder tension, muscular and joint pain.
  • Headaches/migraines.
  • Stress and relaxation.
  • Stretching and lengthening connective tissues and muscles.
  • Circulation and cleansing of body fluids, improving blood circulation.

Your treatment

As part of your first treatment, we will go through a full consultation which will take about 30 minutes. The consultation form consists of questions about your health and lifestyle.  I also use a Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis which helps us build a more connected picture.  Everything we discuss is confidential; I will never make you answer anything that makes you feel uncomfortable.

At the end of the consultation, I will work with you to create a very personal therapeutic blend. Together with the incredible therapeutic properties of the aromatic blend, I will aIso use acupuncture points and work deep into the body's energetic pathways, or 'meridians', soothing aches and pains but also strengthening the flow of energy throughout your body and leaving you deeply relaxed.

Treatments are carried out on a comfortable massage couch whilst covered by towels. Only the part of the body being massaged is uncovered.

Take home therapeutic blends

As part of a course of my Aromatherapy treatments and to prolong the benefits between your sessions, I will recommend and create bespoke therapeutic blends; this could include a chest balm for an acute respiratory condition, a nasal inhaler to calm anxiety or a healing balm to help irritated skin.

Treatment costs

Clinical Aromatherapy & Massage - Initial consultation and treatment £55 for 90 minutes.

Follow up sessions are either 60 minutes and cost £50 or 90 minutes and cost £65.
